SUMMARY 

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Fundraising & Outreach Administrator will create, develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholder groups. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community impact, possesses strong organizational skills, and enjoys a blend of strategic development and hands-on operational support.


Working closely with staff, board members, state and local representatives, key volunteers and external agencies, the Fundraising & Outreach Administrator will be responsible for strategically identifying, cultivating and soliciting prospects and community partnerships, as well as providing essential administrative assistance and ensuring smooth day-day operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Retail Donated Goods & Fundraising Development

· Growing our donated goods stream, monetary donations, major gifts, and planned gifts.

· Spearheading fundraising initiatives to support our ongoing programs.

· Placing follow-up phone calls to vendors, volunteers, and other community partners.

· Preparing solicitation letters, donor acknowledgements and marketing pieces for mailing.

· May assisting with an on-site presence at various events.

· Ensure appropriateness of all communications to donors and to align all fundraising activities to  support the development strategy.

· Assist with and strategically plan, implement, and evaluate the Organization’s development, fundraising and agency partnership initiatives to assure continued support of the community with regards to the overall mission.

· Perform other related essential duties as required or directed.

 

Agency Awareness & Outreach

· Serves as an ambassador for our organization, increasing our visibility within the community and building strong relationships with local partners. Including growing our internal or external work placement opportunities and/or growing the organization’s mission and persons served metric.

· Provide a compelling description of the Organization’s value proposition. Ensure the message given portrays the Organization in the best position as possible. 

· Partner with Programs and Marketing to coordinate mission-focused storytelling initiatives.

· Coordinates regular contact and stewardship with community stakeholders.

· Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within the Rhode Island region in order to inform and further the mission of Goodwill of Southern New England.

· Participates in organization-wide planning and communication with leadership team and Board of Directors.

· Ensure organization representation at appropriate community event/functions.

· Contributes to the overall success of the organization including support of Organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.


Administrative Support

· May assist in gathering information by entering data running various data reports and tracking various information via spreadsheets.

· Provide and track required staff trainings in-person or via an online learning management system.

· Categorize, organize, administer and file paperwork.

· May assist and / or review Employment Applications/Resumes. May assist with setting up interviews, screening/interviewing applicants and participation in Job Fairs.

· Other duties, as related, required or assigned.

Requirements

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Competencies needed to be successful in this job include: Action oriented, ethics and values, leadership development, marketing, networking, presentation skills, strategic thinking, and written communications. Knowledge of tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets, and estates. 


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Not-for-Profit Management, or related field.  Prior professional experience that includes, strategy development, fundraising, and community engagement. 

Experience with developing strategies, negotiating, leading change, public speaking, and developing teams. Prior non-profit experience required. Knowledge and use of current social media, Office 365, and its applications.


COMPUTER SKILLS:

Experience working with donor data base software, preferably Raiser’s Edge. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and current social media platforms.


 INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations at a high level. Produces professional reports, business correspondence, proposals, and procedure manuals. Presents information in a professional manner and responds to questions from groups of managers, personnel, regulators and the general public. Good writing and presentation skills necessary.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to read financial reports.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

Current driver's license. Use of personal auto required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods of time, lift 10 lbs., routinely required to do computer keyboarding and/or generate other written communication. Effective verbal communicator required to communicate effectively with a wide variety of constituents (i.e., presenting at a conference, media, attending Board meetings, etc.).
