Caregiver
Description

  

§ Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, toileting, and continence care, in accordance with individual care plans.

§ Support resident mobility, including transfers, ambulation, positioning, and use of assistive devices as directed.

§ Assist residents to and from meals and provide mealtime support as needed to promote nutrition, dignity, and safety.

§ Measure and record vital signs, observe and report changes in resident condition, behavior, or functional status, and communicate concerns promptly to wellness leadership or nursing staff.

§ Complete treatments or clinical support tasks as ordered and within the caregiver’s scope of practice.

§ Provide emotional support and maintain a calm, respectful, and reassuring presence for residents at all times.

§ Accurately and timely document care provided, observations, and services rendered in accordance with policy.

§ Maintain open communication between shifts to ensure continuity of care and sharing of relevant resident information.

§ Assist with light housekeeping duties in resident living areas, including bed making, linen changes, trash removal, and maintaining a clean, safe environment as outlined in the care plan.

§ Support residents with personal laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and returning items as needed.

§ Assist dining services with beverage service, meal setup, clearing tables, and in-room dining support as appropriate.

§ Stock supplies, maintain clean and organized work areas, and clean shared equipment in accordance with infection control and safety standards.

§ Follow all safety, emergency, infection control, and resident rights protocols.

§ Maintain confidentiality and comply with all background check, training, and competency requirements as a condition of employment.

§ Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the needs of the community and resident care.
