A&K Railroad Materials is a leading supplier of new and used railroad track materials, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, with locations across the United States.
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Corporate Legal Assistant to support our legal department and executive team. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys staying organized, handling important documents, and helping a busy team stay on track.
Based in our Salt Lake City office, this position supports the Vice President & General Counsel position and works closely with teams across the company. You’ll be part of a professional, collaborative office that values teamwork, reliability, and strong communication.
The legal department works on contracts, litigation, employment matters, corporate records, and other business needs. In this role, you’ll help keep projects organized, support day-to-day legal work, and assist with special projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for the legal department, including organizing files and tracking matters.
- Prepare, proofread, format, and organize contracts, reports, correspondence, and other business documents.
- Help manage calendars, meetings, deadlines, and follow-up items.
- Maintain legal, corporate, safety, and compliance records.
- Draft and edit professional emails, summaries, and internal communications.
- Assist with research and special projects assigned by the General Counsel.
- Work with internal teams and outside contacts to gather information and keep projects moving.
- 2–3 years of experience in a legal assistant, executive assistant, or similar administrative support role.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and CoPilot.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and good judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with contracts, litigation, corporate records, or compliance documents.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw or Practical Law Connect.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
