GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This internship opportunity will be offered for approximately an eight-week period of time with dates agreed upon between the incumbent and the Department Head to be between May and September. This position will ideally be 20 hours per week. The intent of the internship is to expose college students to the inner workings of county government, demonstrate the many ways Delta County makes a difference in our community and encourage post-graduation employment with Delta County.
We will work with the selected intern(s) to carry out projects that meet our strategic needs, provide an overview of county government and have the possibility to focus on careers of study.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Collect mosquitos
- Count and classify mosquitos
- Set mosquito traps
- Partner with mosquito districts through communication
- Data entry
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in a field related to public and community service is required.
Experience: Demonstrative leadership and community service experience is required.
Licenses/Certifications: Current and unrestricted Colorado Driver’s License is required.
Must be able to work in an outside setting where temperature and conditions vary and are unpredictable.
