Description
Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Family Medicine in Farmington, Utah. Position is full-time, working four (4) days a week with Friday being one of the days.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts physical exams, assesses health status, orders and interprets tests, prescribes medications, and treats illnesses including giving injections and suturing wounds.
- Consults with physicians as needed and refers to physicians for more complicated medical cases.
- Monitors therapies and provides continuity of care.
- Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems.
- Counsels' patient/family on preventive health care.
- Documents patient information and care in medical record and may maintain department statistical database for research purposes.
- Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.
- Reviews patient records, interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed in conjunction with the physician or under the direction of a physician.
- Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention; instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Provides patient education.
- Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations, including use of CPR.
Requirements
Nurse Practitioner
- BSN required, MSN preferred; successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program.
- Minimum three (3) years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting, plus two (2) years of nurse practitioner experience.
- State registered NP license; Current state license as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority.
Physician Assistant
- Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program.
- Four (4) years of health care experience prior to applying to PA program, plus one (1) year of experience as PA, preferably in clinic setting.
- National certification from the NCCPA.
- State registered PA license required.

- Operate medical instruments such as stethoscopes and diagnostic tools, along with procedural equipment like IV pumps, catheters, and wound care supplies.
- Utilize computers for electronic health records and communicate using various software tools and personal protective equipment due to potential exposure to hazards like bloodborne pathogens.
Work Environment:
- Clinic environment working directly with patients in examination rooms, perform procedures in treatment areas, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in team-based environments.
Mental/Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 100 pounds to assist fallen patients.
- Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.
- May be exposed to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.
