Join Our Team as an Activities Aide
Help Create Meaningful Moments for Our Veterans

Are you creative, compassionate, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? Maine Veterans’ Homes is seeking an Activities Aide to help provide engaging, meaningful experiences for our residents in a supportive long-term care environment.

In this role, you will assist in planning and leading activities that promote residents’ physical, emotional, social, and mental well-being. From group games and special events to one-on-one interactions, you’ll play an important part in helping our residents stay active, connected, and engaged each day.

Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm (32 hours/week)
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required for special events and activities.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with organizing and leading recreational, social, and therapeutic activities
• Encourage resident participation and engagement
• Support group and individual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
• Help maintain a positive, welcoming environment for residents and families
• Assist with decorating, event preparation, and special celebrations
• Work collaboratively with the Activities team and volunteers

What We’re Looking For:

• Interest in activities programming and working with older adults
• Ability to lead both small and large group activities
• Compassionate, patient, and energetic personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to effectively communicate in spoken and written English
• Understanding of resident-centered care and long-term care activity programs is preferred
