Description

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, delivers, picks up and sorts mail for 80 Maiden Lane. Distributes 

office supplies from Mailroom to staff at 80 Maiden Lane.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The duties and responsibilities of the Mail Clerk - Messenger will include, but are not limited to 

the following:

• Coordinates daily activities of Mailroom and support staff.

• Coordinates messenger pick-up and delivery.

• Serves as liaison between agency and courier service provider on delivery related 

problems.

• Coordinates transportation of all records from Maiden Lane to Bronx Records Retention 

Center.

• Oversees maintenance on all non-computer related equipment at Maiden lane (i.e. 

copiers, fax machine, shredders) which includes contacting vendor for service calls, 

ensuring all work is performed, equipment is functional and repair logs are maintained.

• Oversees in-house maintenance for designated household duties at Maiden lane i.e. bulb 

replacement, scheduling of carpet cleaning and furniture movement.

• Manages Stockroom and supplies at Maiden Lane including managing inventory 

database, conducting periodic review of inventory supplies and recommending stock 

replenishment.

• Opens, sorts, distributes and picks up mail for staff working at 80 Maiden Lane.

• Picks up and delivers mail in Manhattan for staff working at 80 Maiden Lane.

• Sets up conference rooms for meetings by moving tables and setting up chairs.

• Runs Mailroom at 80 Maiden Lane and distributes office supplies to staff.

• Ensures that outgoing mail has proper postage.

• Performs numerous administrative support functions i.e. filing, photocopying, distribution 

of memos.

• Provides facility support and office equipment maintenance for 80 Maiden Lane 

• Maintains stockroom inventory and distribution at two locations.

• Performs other related duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.

• Good organizational skills

• Able to travel around Manhattan on the subways


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED

• One year of prior mailroom experience preferred


COMPENSATION

$17.46 hourly + Industry Leading Benefits
