Position Summary: 


JFS’s Employment Specialists support job seekers on their path to building economic resilience by assisting them with all aspects of career preparation such as resume writing, online job search/applications, and conducting mock interviews while offering person-centered case management. As a part of a collaborative and dynamic team, we provide individual career coaching support as well as teach skill-building workshops to help adult job seekers increase confidence, overcome barriers, and secure high-quality employment. This position is primarily on site at our central office, located in Southeast Denver. Hybrid work options are available.


 Responsibilities: 


 Coaching and Advising:

  • Evaluate challenges to employment, coach job seekers to identify their needs and goals, and help them create and adhere to career service plans.
  • Assist clients with job preparation activities, such as writing/editing resumes while offering      online job search, application, and interview skills training. 
  • Engage with employer partners and connect job seekers to community resources such as GED, ESL, Vocational Training programs, and Digital Literacy classes.

Case Management and Data Entry:

  • Support participants throughout their entire job search journey and communicate regularly with them using a strengths-based, holistic approach.
  • Facilitate client intakes, coordinate interviews, and support onboarding processes for individuals.
  • Enter detailed, accurate case notes and keep accurate digital files by documenting all interactions and progress to ensure data integrity and client accountability.
  • Track and report on measurable employment outcomes according to various city, state, and federal grants.

Additional Responsibilities:· 

  • Partner with staff, stakeholders, and volunteers to serve a diverse client base. 
  • Own team communication with the internal departments you support, including updating case managers and team leads about shared client progress, while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks effectively, attending to details, and meeting deadlines.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team by attaining placement goals and adapt when priorities change.
  • Help plan special department programs such as job fairs and training workshops.
  • Participate in staff training as required. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  

Qualifications:


Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • At least one year of employment coaching experience and/or strong knowledge of career-related topics and vocational/workforce development best practices.
  • Experience in workforce development, human resources, recruiting, social work, business communication, or a closely related industry is a plus.
  • Direct case management experience coupled with cross-cultural sensitivity and a desire to work with people from diverse backgrounds is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and any  other language, particularly Spanish, is valued but not required.

  • Passion for coaching people, writing resumes, and helping job seekers secure meaningful employment through one-on-one sessions and in small group settings. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, relationship-building, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Strong business writing, data entry, and advising skills.
  • Service-oriented and dedicated to meeting customers’ needs in a culturally inclusive manner.
  • Advanced computer skills, including the full MS Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Teams) and other CRM databases.

This is a full-time, TEMPORARY position. The hiring range is $23.00 to $30.00 per hour. Interested candidates must upload a current resume to be considered for the position.
