The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Due to the cyclic nature of our organization, all positions are subject to separation at the end of the election cycle.


Position Summary: The DCCC is hiring District Organizing Directors for the 2026 election cycle. The Organizing Directors report directly to their Regional Organizing Director, and are primarily responsible for management and oversight of all organizing operations for a designated Congressional District. This person will direct all voter contact programs, including managing organizing and volunteer teams, as well as building and maintaining relationships with district-based partners. Ideal candidates will have experience working on teams and with many stakeholders to shepherd a program or project from inception to completion.


This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.


Responsibilities:

  • Working within a battleground congressional district to design and execute an Organizing program that engages, persuades, and turns out voters for the 2026 Midterm elections
  • Communicating consistently with both the congressional campaign in-district and the DCCC Organizing team on progress to goal, program analysis, and troubleshooting challenges 
  • Developing strong relationships with local party leaders, grassroots organizers, and key activists
  • Work closely with external Voter Contact partners such as Coordinated Campaigns, activist groups, down ballot campaigns, or labor
  • Building and implementing systems and structures to lead the organizing program to successfully meet daily, weekly, and phase goals for capacity building and voter contact, as well as maintain data integrity
  • Hiring, training, and managing additional field staff in the district
  • Act as a point of contract for DCCC in-district offices
  • Other department responsibilities as needed
Requirements
  • 1 cycle of electoral campaign organizing required
  • 2+ cycles of campaign, issue or nonprofit organizing experience and 1 cycle of staff management experience preferred
  • Ability to live and work in-person within the assigned congressional district through November 2026
  • Prior experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers on electoral or issue campaigns in a paid staff capacity preferred
  • Proficiency in VAN or PDI, Google Docs, and MobilizeAmerica
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record and access to a vehicle is required
  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Familiarity with peer-to-peer texting, relational, and dialer tools
  • Experience developing, training and empowering volunteers
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure and problem solve effectively and creatively
  • Draws from team members’ strengths, empowering them to maximize their talents; contributes where needed to achieve and exceed goals; mentors and guides colleagues with regular feedback and recognition; clearly lays out vision and expectations to the team
