Now Hiring: PRN (On-Call) Activities Assistant

We’re looking for a creative, compassionate, and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team on a PRN (on-call) basis. In this role, you’ll help bring joy, purpose, and connection to our residents through engaging, person-centered programming.


What You’ll Do

  • Support the Activities Manager with planning and facilitating programs
  • Lead and participate in 1:1 visits, small groups, and large group activities
  • Create a welcoming, engaging environment that promotes comfort, stimulation, and community
  • Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, and facility décor
  • Implement diverse activity approaches (music, art, pet therapy, etc.)
  • Engage residents who are room-bound or need individualized support
  • Maintain attendance, documentation, and activity records
  • Promote and support volunteer involvement
  • Set up, clean, and organize activity supplies and spaces
  • Provide compassionate support to residents and families, including those facing end-of-life care

Schedule

  • PRN / On-Call: Coverage for call-outs, vacations, and increased activity needs
  • Flexible availability preferred, including weekends and holidays as needed

Requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.


Licenses/Certification

Certified Recreation Therapist, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or Activity Assistant Certified (NCCAP or state-specific) preferred.


Experience

Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Prefer minimum of 500 hours of experience in activity programming in any setting prior to hire. Different combination of education/experience may qualify, depending on state requirements.
