Buyer
Description

 The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, components, and supplies required for production of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electromechanical subassemblies. This is a full-time, on-site position working closely with the production scheduling and operations teams to ensure on-time material availability and supplier responsiveness. 

Requirements

     

• Request and evaluate quotations from approved suppliers   for wire, cable, connectors, hardware, and other production materials

 

• Issue and track purchase orders from creation through   receipt; follow up on open orders and delivery commitments

 

• Assign and maintain MAC item numbers for new raw   materials; set up new items and suppliers in the ERP system

 

• Coordinate with customer service to align purchasing   activity with the production schedule

 

• Communicate with vendors on pricing, lead times,   delivery, and quality issues in a professional and timely manner

 

• Maintain accurate purchasing records, open order   reports, and material cost data

 

• Support the Controller and operations team with cost   tracking and variance reporting

 

• Assist with supplier evaluation and onboarding in   coordination with Quality

 

• Maintain working knowledge of company quality standards   (AS9100D, IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3) as they relate to purchasing

 

• Other duties as assigned

  

MINIMUM   QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required:

 

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree   in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)   — must be comfortable working in spreadsheets daily

 

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy   in data entry and record-keeping

 

• Solid written and verbal communication skills; ability   to correspond professionally with suppliers

 

• Ability to manage multiple open tasks and prioritize   effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

 

• Self-starter who follows tasks through to completion   without extensive supervision

 

• Must meet the definition of “US Person” under ITAR/EAR   regulations

 

Preferred (not required):

 

• Prior purchasing, procurement, or materials   coordination experience in a manufacturing environment

 

• Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems

 

• Knowledge of wire, cable, connectors, or electronic   components

 

• Experience in an aerospace, defense, or regulated   manufacturing environment
