Job Summary:  


The Quality Tech is primarily responsible for the daily execution of quality control processes across a diverse production operation. This role provides hands-on support for production teams, verifies compliance, and ensures accurate completion of records. This includes all product testing, field testing, and data tracking. This team member must have a drive for continuous improvement in all processes, logical problem-solving skills, and the desire to lead by example. 


Responsibilities:? 

  • Perform daily laboratory analyses capturing data points necessary to track the health of liquid fermentation. Daily analyses include, but not limited to:? 
  • Daily Brix, pH, titratable acidity, temperature, yeast cell counts and viability scores, free sulfur analysis, and dissolved oxygen content? 
  • Perform routine hourly production line checks to ensure equipment and product meets specifications ? 
  • Assist/lead with data collection, data entry, and reporting of compiled data? 
  • Perform incoming ingredient and material inspections for compliance with food safety programs? 
  • Investigate and document issues precisely and in an organized manner to ensure record keeping and documentation accuracy 
  • Responsible for the cleaning and calibration of all laboratory equipment/machines? 
  • Participate as a key team player by supporting operations as needed 
  • Other duties as assigned by their manager   
Requirements

Requirements  


Education, Skills & Knowledge:  

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required  
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a lab?(preferred) 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word? 
  • Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail  
  • Well-developed tasting skills – Non-Smokers are highly preferred 
  • Understanding of Food and Beverage Industry? 
  • Clear commitment to high quality and attention to details? 
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision 
  • Flexibility to work longer hours during peak seasons to support business needs 
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks typical of manufacturing operations, including standing for extended periods and light lifting. 

Working Conditions:  

  • The work for this position will be in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment.? 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with some periods being loud.? 
  • Some weekend work required as needed.? 
  • Must be able to work safely in both hot and cold environments
