Production Supervisor
Description

 

Coordinate, supervise, and actively engage in all production activities involving hourly employees. Oversee daily operations to ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and cost objectives while maintaining a positive and productive work environment. Responsible for planning and coordinating shipments, as well as overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw and direct materials.


Key Responsibilities:


Production Management

  • Review and execute production schedules to meet operational goals.
  • Maximize labor efficiency through effective workforce planning and utilization.
  • Adjust staffing levels to meet changing production requirements.
  • Develop production schedules based on equipment capabilities and operational constraints.
  • Maintain production flow while balancing quality, cost, and output objectives.

Quality Assurance

  • Develop, implement, and audit quality control standards and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, Quality Policy Statements, and Quality Control Procedures.
  • Verify completion of employee training programs, including review of work instructions and procedures.
  • Ensure hands-on training aligns with documented work instructions and quality standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process consistency.

Safety & Compliance

  • Monitor workforce activities to minimize recordable incidents and lost-time injuries.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and employee safety contacts.
  • Investigate and document near misses, accidents, and injuries, implementing corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Conduct annual reviews of Right-to-Know (Hazard Communication) materials.
  • Maintain high standards of workplace housekeeping and organization.

Cost Control

  • Operate efficiently to manage and reduce direct labor and material costs.
  • Support and encourage employee-driven cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor operational performance to improve productivity and profitability.

Leadership & Employee Development

  • Consistently and fairly administer company policies and personnel procedures.
  • Foster positive employee relations and a strong team-oriented culture.
  • Train, coach, and motivate employees to achieve operational excellence.
  • Develop workforce skills and support employee growth and advancement.

 

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven supervisory and management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing, foundry, or industrial production experience.
  • In-plant or hands-on operational training experience.
  • Experience with ISO quality systems and compliance standards.
Salary Description
$70,000 - $90,000
