Description
Works under minimal supervision assisting the Executive and Catering Chefs in preparation of daily menu, VIP meals, special events and the fully operational Coffee Bar.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares menu dishes following established recipes
- Use designated ingredients that meet production and quality standards
- Follows all portion and presentation specifications and proper preparation methods
- Sets up and stocks workstation with all necessary supplies
- Basic barista skills preferred
- Coordinates with all other line cooks to ensure meals are delivered consistently and on time
- Follows all applicable guidelines and regulations for food handling and safety
- Perform all tasks necessary to support the efficient and excellent operation of the kitchen, as directed by Executive Chef.
Requirements
EDUCATION:
- High-School graduate or equivalent
- Must obtain and maintain Texas Food Handler Certificate in accordance with Texas Dept of State Health Service requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
- 1-2 years of experience in food service industry preferred
SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of procedures relating to high volume, catering, sanitation, safety, product rotation and cost factors.
- Must have good customer working relations. Self-motivator with an attitude of excellence.
- Dishwashing
- Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and temperature control procedures
- Ability to follow standardized recipes accurately and consistently
- Familiarity with knife skills and safe operation of commercial kitchen equipment
- Ability to set up, execute, and break down catering and special even service
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
- Dishwasher, Slicer, Carts, Ovens, Grill, Stoves, Knives, Fryer and Food Processor
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Fast-paced Environment
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs. And stand for long periods of time. Physical ability to push, pull, bend, stand, and stoop.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Logical follow-through. Requires the ability to multi-task. Must react favorably in all work situations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works in a kitchen environment

- Born again believer and must adhere to the doctrines of this organization as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives
- Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension, difficulties and divisions
- Must maintain a good attendance record
- Because of the wide range of personal contact with ministry leaders within and outside the organization, this position requires considerable diplomacy, maturity, and excellent communication skills
