About the Role

The HR Generalist is responsible for managing the daily support operations of the Human Resources department, ensuring seamless delivery of HR services across the employee lifecycle. This role bridges administrative excellence with employee relations, covering areas such as onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and offboarding.


The ideal candidate is a trusted, highly organized, and empathetic professional who possesses a deep understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and employee engagement strategies, acting as a supportive resource for both leadership and staff.


Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Support

  • Support the Manager, People & Culture for employee inquiries regarding company policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist in resolving employee relations issues with objectivity, empathy, and confidentiality.
  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires, including background checks, equipment coordination, orientation, and data entry.
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage the offboarding workflow.
  • Support managers and employees with continuous feedback program ensuring performance feedback is regularly discussed and captured. 
  • Collaborate on initiatives that drive employee morale, diversity, equity, inclusion, and a positive, safe workplace culture.

Benefits & Payroll Support

  • Primary responsibility to oversee daily benefits administration (enrollment, changes, and open enrollment support).
  • Primary responsibility for timecard review and management including accurate tracking for leaves, hours and compensation adjustments. 
  • Support maintenance and optimization of the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and tracking metrics are accurate. 

Recruiting

  • Primary responsibility for all recruiting including job posting, screening applications, scheduling interviews and job offers.
  • Manage pre-employment screening processes.
  • Onboarding and orientation of new hires. 

Compliance & Record Keeping

  • Ensure the organization remains in strict compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA).
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and up-to-date digital employee files.
  • Maintain NAID & R2 compliance documentation. 
  • Other duties as requested.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in human resources with increasing responsibility.
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of multi state HR compliance, laws and regulations. 
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, and project coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to take constructive feedback and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet compliance deadlines, and remain adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a workstation
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds, infrequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent use of computer, phone, and other office equipment
  • Capability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and over digital platforms
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Capability to work in various indoor non temperature controlled environments
  • Extended periods of walking or standing throughout the workday
  • Visual acuity to read labels and perform detailed tasks
  • Willingness to adhere to physical safety protocols

Salary Description
$60,000 - $70,000 / Annually
