The Quality Manager is responsible for working with all our manufacturing facilities on a global basis and leading quality department in Ohio plant. This position leads the establishment and implementation of the Company’s comprehensive quality management strategic initiatives.
This role will coordinate with the cross functional team members in developing, implementing, and maintaining the ElectroCraft Quality Initiatives, lead customer problem solving processes across multiple manufacturing sites, and drive reduction in Cost of Quality across ElectroCraft.

Essential Functions
- Implement ElectroCraft’s Quality Strategy Initiatives: Develop, lead, and implement Quality Strategic Initiatives. Lead/Support project team leaders in cost competitive and manufacturing optimization projects to achieve business unit objectives and financial targets.
- Lead/Support Plants Problem Solving Process: Lead multiple facilities effort to eliminate product and process defect causes by utilizing Team-Oriented Problem-Solving methodology and recommending changes or solutions to problems. Support and lead the customer complaints management process at specific manufacturing sites.
- Quality Systemic Analysis Matrix: Lead the development of “Systemic Analysis of Root Causes” determined during the problem-solving process. Ensure “read across” actions are developed and implemented throughout all the manufacturing sites.
- Execute Key Quality Processes & Quality Systems: Ensure that the manufacturing sites are developing, deploying, and maintaining compliance to ISO9001 and/or successor standards, Customer Specific Requirements, and other industry standards.
- Customer Performance Management: Lead all manufacturing sites efforts to ensure customer quality performance expectations and requirements are effectively managed. Partner with Global Quality leads to support compliance with customer specific requirements that include customer visits, and customer performance metrics/scorecard management.
- Reduce Cost of Poor Quality: Lead, mentor and monitor Continuous Improvement projects that reduce Cost of Poor Quality at the manufacturing sites. Develop a project roadmap to drive step down improvement of Cost of Poor Quality. Leverage support from cross-functional team including individuals trained in Six Sigma methodologies to drive these Quality improvement initiatives.
- Quality Functional Competencies/Training: Develop Quality professionals and direct their training, quality functional competency development activities to drive enhanced levels of quality team’s performance in achieving business objectives. Support the development of the Quality Talent Management process for the business.

Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Experience or Skills
- Strong leadership skills and ability to lead in a matrixed organization, Quality Leadership experience.
- Highly effective communication and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
- 10 to 15 years of work experience is preferred, min of 5 years of quality management.
- Prefer candidates with ASQ Certification in any of the following: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), and Six Sigma (SSGB/SSBB).
- Knowledge of quality management systems and support practices. This competency includes the ability to efficiently and effectively assess performance, set strategy aligned with the business and use metrics to drive continuous improvements
- Knowledgeable about External / Customer Requirements: The competency of knowledge, practice and application of the Product / Process and Quality System standards of the International Certification Bodies, Industry specific Regulatory Authorities and Customers contractually specified Quality Requirements.
- Knowledge of Product/Process Quality Planning (APQP): Product/Process Quality Planning (Advanced Quality Planning; AQP) is the ability to strategically define the Critical to Quality elements of a product/process, and the knowledge to effectively analyze, assess and mitigate the risks associated with any potential failures.
Physical Demands and Work Requirements
- Regular presence on the manufacturing floor
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to wear required PPE
- Ability to work in climate controlled and non-controlled environments.
- Ability to work around machinery and moving equipment in a manufacturing setting which may contain frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
