Description
The Walker Center is seeking a dependable Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for clients and staff. Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas; making beds; changing linens; restocking supplies; and supporting the overall cleanliness of our residential treatment facility.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, visitors, and staff throughout The Walker Center.
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and other facility spaces.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and disinfect surfaces according to established cleaning schedules.
- Make beds, change linens, and restock towels, bedding, and other supplies as needed.
- Replenish restroom and facility supplies, including paper products, soap, and cleaning materials.
- Follow proper procedures for handling contaminated materials and cleaning biohazardous areas when necessary.
- Safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks and schedules in a timely manner.
- Report maintenance, safety, or housekeeping concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow all Walker Center policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements, and safety practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with others.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position including walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting 50 pounds, extending; and safely working from a ladder.
- If in recovery from a Substance Use Disorder, must demonstrate sobriety, self-care, integrity, emotional stability, personal wellbeing, effective communication of needs, self-awareness, and the ability to maintain a low risk of harm to self or others.
- Must pass pre-hire requirements including a criminal background check, urinalysis (UA), and TB test.
- Must obtain CPR certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
