The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, writing, and managing grant proposals that fund PCs for People's programs and operations. This individual will play a critical role in securing and sustaining the financial resources that allow our mission to scale - crafting compelling narratives that connect funder priorities to the real-world impact of our work. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, a strategic thinker, and someone who genuinely cares about the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Research & Writing
- Research and identify foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities aligned with PCs for People's mission and programmatic priorities.
- Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports on time and in compliance with funder requirements.
- Support the development of a diversified funding strategy in partnership with organizational leadership and the Enterprise and Impact teams.
- Stay current on trends in digital equity, environmental sustainability, and nonprofit funding landscapes to identify emerging opportunities.
Grant Management & Tracking
- Manage a grants calendar to ensure all deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal cycles are tracked and met.
- Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to gather data, outcomes, and supporting materials needed for proposals and reports.
- Maintain accurate grant records including applications, awards, correspondence, and reporting documentation.
- Support the Enterprise and Impact teams in maintaining positive relationships with current and prospective funders through professional communication and stewardship.
- Monitor grant budgets and work with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting to funders.
- Track program outcomes and impact data to support compelling, evidence-based grant narratives.
- Other duties as requested.
- 3+ years of experience in grant writing, development, or a related nonprofit fundraising role
- Demonstrated track record of successful grant awards across foundation, corporate, and/or government funding sources
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and persuasive narratives
- Strong research skills and ability to identify and qualify funding opportunities
- Experience managing multiple deadlines simultaneously with strong organizational and project management skills
- Familiarity with grants management systems or CRM platforms preferred
- Knowledge of digital equity, technology access, environmental sustainability, or related issue areas is a plus
- Ability to translate complex program data and outcomes into accessible, funder-friendly language
- Collaborative team player who can work cross-functionally with program, finance, and leadership staff
