Job Summary Overview
The position is responsible for supporting business development and relationship management activities related to SBA 7(a), SBA 504, and commercial lending products. Loan types may include owner-occupied commercial real estate, construction loans, business acquisition financing, and lines of credit. The position assists with prospecting, pipeline management, client onboarding, and loan origination support while working closely with Business Development Officers, Credit Analysts, and Operations to ensure timely and efficient loan processing and servicing.
Essential Job Functions
- Supports the solicitation and servicing of SBA and commercial loan relationships.
- Assists with gathering, reviewing, and organizing loan application documentation.
- Pre-screens prospective borrowers and loan requests for general eligibility and completeness.
- Maintains and tracks loan pipelines, borrower communications, and follow-up activities.
- Coordinates with loan officers, analysts, and support staff throughout the origination process.
- Assists in ordering third-party reports such as appraisals, environmental reviews, and title work as required.
- Supports portfolio monitoring by tracking customer changes, renewals, and reporting needs.
- Cross-sells banking products and services to support full relationship development.
- Conducts outbound cold calls and managing inbound calls to prospects and existing members as part of ongoing relationship management.
- Assists in preparing materials for loan presentations, approvals, and closings.
- Represents the credit union professionally in client meetings, networking events, and community outreach activities as needed.
Position Required Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED. Minimum of one (1) year experience in business development, outbound focused sales / lead generation, commercial banking, lending support, or a related financial services role. Proven ability to make outbound cold calls through phone calls, in person marketing or email campaigns.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; familiarity with JHA or similar core banking systems is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting SBA lending or commercial loan origination.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

- Working on a computer for extended periods of time.
