About the Role
As our Shipping & Receiving Coordinator, you are the final checkpoint before our precision hardware reaches customers in aerospace, defense, and nuclear programs. You will own the end-to-end logistics flow, from coordinating carriers and verifying documentation to ensuring parts are correctly identified, packaged, and delivered on time. Working cross-functionally with production control, quality, and warehouse teams, you will play a direct role in upholding our reputation for flawless execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory of shipping supplies and proactively replenish materials to avoid delays.
- Schedule and coordinate box-building for outgoing shipments, tooling, and raw materials.
- Collaborate with quality inspection to verify parts are correctly identified, labeled, and stamped before shipment.
- Work from the production control shipping commitment list to prepare and present shippable parts to customers.
- Maintain accurate finished goods inventory for all unshipped items and conduct periodic special inventories.
- Coordinate with raw materials and tooling departments to return or ship customer-owned items on schedule.
- Plan and sequence shipment flows to consistently achieve on-time delivery commitments.
- Complete all shipping and receiving documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
- Serve as a clear, proactive communicator with internal teams and external carriers to resolve any shipping or receiving issues quickly.
Qualifications
Required
- 2–5 years of shipping and receiving experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with customer packaging requirements and standard shipping documentation.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs and stand, squat, kneel, or step for extended periods.
Preferred
- Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management standards.
- Experience working with ERP or MRP systems for inventory and logistics tracking.
