Position Summary

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and organizing the equipment, staff, and processes on the production floor in their assigned department. They will oversee scheduling and routine production activities as well as troubleshooting should problems arise.

You will make an impact and be successful in this role with the following skills and responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Overseeing the manufacturing and shipping processes and procedures in production operations. Assign production tasks to team members taking account of production needs and individual capabilities.
• Management of the production team including hiring, appraising, training and disciplining when necessary.
• Creating and overseeing employee training to increase production while maintaining the highest level of quality and safety.
• Maintain communication between management and employees to ensure      that necessary policies are understood and followed.
• Ensure that the flow of resources like component parts, supplies, and work aids is maintained and that production items are delivered as needed and used properly and efficiently.
• Work with Quality and Engineering to ensure that the production team and equipment are compliant and up to date with training.
• Assist with the onboarding of new hires.

• Organizational Skills: Must be organized and able to prioritize based on defined variables. Make sure that all necessary materials and equipment are available when needed.
• Problem Solving Abilities: Sharp production focus with drive for accurate results. Must be able to quickly assess production issues and establish the best course of action.
• Analytical Skills: Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to take appropriate action as needed.
• Time Management: Work to ensure that the production team is working in the most time-efficient way and that downtime is at a minimum. Flexible working long hours as required to meet project deadlines.
• Communication Skills: Must have strong people skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Must have exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution attributes.
• Computer Skills: Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel and Word.
• Reporting Skills: Collects data and compiles reports about production and ensures all documentation necessary for compliance      requirements is completely accurately. 

Education and Experience

• GED or High School diploma required. 
• 2-year degree in Manufacturing Technology is preferred. 
• 5-7 years’ experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment is required. 

Safety and Personal Protective Equipment

• Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. This includes at a customer or supplier location.
• Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses
