Panel Shop Fabricator
Description


Position Summary:

Panel Shop Fabricators assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels for industrial applications. Fabricators read electrical schematics, work with hand tools, and ensure high-quality standards in panel fabrication. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels according to blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Mount and wire components such as relays, circuit breakers, PLCs, HMIs, power supplies, and terminal blocks.
  • Perform panel layout, drilling, tapping, and component installation.
  • Ensure proper wire routing, labeling, and connections in compliance with electrical codes and company standards.
  • Work closely with engineers and project managers to review designs and resolve any assembly issues.
  • Operate tools and equipment such as wire crimpers, cutters, soldering irons, and multimeters.
  • Assist in quality control inspections and documentation of panel builds.
  • Follow production schedules and meet deadlines while maintaining high craftsmanship.
  • Ensure all materials and equipment are organized, used and stored properly. 
  • Work safely at all times, following OSHA requirements of the job as well as company safety policies.
  • Keep work area clean, organized and free from clutter, or any potential safety hazards. 
  • May be requested to operate a forklift to move products and materials
  • Perform additional duties as requested. 
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electrical or industrial technology is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in panel fabrication, electrical assembly, or related field experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments.
  • Knowledge of industrial control components, electrical wiring, and safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with PLC and HMI integration.
