About the Job

We are currently seeking a Billing Specialist for our finance team.  The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of billing or accounting experience and be proficient with Deltek Vantagepoint, particularly the billing module. They should have a strong understanding of project-based billing, including time and materials, fixed fee, and cost-plus structures, along with excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and solid proficiency in Excel and general accounting systems. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities are essential. Preferred qualifications include experience in professional services, engineering, architecture, consulting, or government contracting, as well as familiarity with Deltek Vision (legacy) and a working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles.

This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

As a Billing Specialist, your job functions will include, but not be limited to:

• Preparing, reviewing, and processing client invoices in Deltek Vantagepoint 
• Ensuring billing is accurate, timely, and aligned with contract terms
• Maintaining billing schedules, project setups, and revenue recognition data
• Collaborating with project managers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies
• Generating billing reports and assisting with month-end close
• Maintaining organized documents and support audits

Qualifications

Candidates should hold an associates or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 1+ years of billing or accounting experience
• Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint (billing module required)
• Strong understanding of project-based billing, time and materials, fixed fee, and cost-plus structures
• Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in Excel and general accounting systems
• Excellent written, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Compensation is commensurate with experience and internal equity, within the listed range. An employee’s total compensation package includes annual salary; company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) participation with a company match of 1% to 4% of annual compensation; company-paid life and short- and long-term disability insurance; paid sick leave (10 days), paid vacation (10 days), and paid holidays (9 days) per year; and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance. Paid time off will be prorated to reflect part-time scheduled hours, if applicable.
