Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare metal parts for powder coating by cleaning, masking, hanging, and inspecting components prior to coating
- Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and curing ovens
- Apply powder coat finishes evenly and consistently according to work instructions and specifications
- Monitor oven temperatures and cure times to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality
- Inspect finished parts for defects such as runs, thin coverage, orange peel, or contamination
- Perform touch-ups or rework as required to meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe powder coat area
- Follow all safety, environmental, and PPE requirements
- Complete required production and quality documentation
- Communicate issues related to equipment, materials, or quality to supervision
- Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of powder coating equipment
- Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior powder coating or industrial painting experience preferred
- Knowledge of powder coat application techniques, curing processes, and surface preparation
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and safety guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic mechanical aptitude
