Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey is looking for energetic, fun, organized, and caring staff for the Summer Camp. The Bus Chaperone is responsible for the safety and supervision of campers utilizing bus services before and after the camp day for Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey’s camp season.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Unboard and reboard at each stop, taking accurate attendance of campers
· Conduct bus drills per instruction of the driver following each Tuesday AM arrival at camp
· Maintain bus clipboard and first aid kit
· Develop relationship with bus driver to maintain communication on safety procedures
· Submit daily attendance sheet to camp office
· Take attendance prior to boarding at the end of the day
· Maintain strict safety procedures set forth by GSNNJ
· Attend pre-camp training and in-services
· Verify ID’s of parents/guardians upon bus stop pickup
· Document and diligently report any health and welfare concerns to the Camp Health Supervisor
· Ensure no personal belongings are left behind
· Maintain communication with Camp Office when last PM stop is reached and in the event of no pickup, a delay, or other concerns
· Perform other duties as assigned

· Certification in First Aid and CPR
· Strong organizational skills
· Desire and ability to supervise, lead, and positively manage campers
· Ability to use sound judgement surrounding safety procedures
