INTERIM DIRECTOR OF NURSING (RN)

Full-Time | Multi-State Travel Position

Are you an experienced Director of Nursing who thrives on leading teams through transitions, improving clinical outcomes, and providing operational stability? We are seeking a highly skilled Interim Director of Nursing (RN) to support Skilled Nursing Facilities across Ohio, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

This full-time float position is ideal for a seasoned nursing leader who enjoys variety, travel, and making an immediate impact. Assignments may last several weeks to several months before transitioning to the next facility based on organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Interim Director of Nursing for assigned Skilled Nursing Facilities

• Provide clinical leadership, regulatory oversight, and operational support during leadership transitions

• Ensure survey readiness and compliance with federal and state regulations

• Mentor and support nursing teams while driving quality outcomes

• Partner with facility leadership to improve clinical performance, staffing, and resident satisfaction

• Support facilities with Quality Measures, infection prevention, admissions, and clinical reimbursement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license required

• Must hold licensure (or be eligible through Nurse Licensure Compact) to practice in Ohio, Tennessee, and North Carolina

• Minimum 5-7 years of recent Director of Nursing experience in Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care

• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey process, Quality Measures, PDPM, and infection prevention

• Experience with ventilator programs and dementia care strongly preferred

• Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays and extended assignments

• Must reside in Ohio, Tennessee, or North Carolina
