Position Summary

We are seeking a Director, Telecommunications to lead client engagements, drive telecom expense reduction initiatives, and help scale our telecommunications practice. This role combines strategic consulting, client relationship management, telecommunications expertise, and team leadership.

The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to clients by identifying savings opportunities through auditing, contract negotiations, service optimization, inventory management, sourcing, procurement, and modernization initiatives. The individual will work directly with clients to understand their business needs, develop savings strategies, and leverage SIB’s people, technology, data analytics, and AI-enabled tools to deliver measurable results.

In addition, this leader will be responsible for developing team capabilities, strengthening supplier relationships, and partnering with executive leadership to grow and scale the telecommunications practice.


Responsibilities

Client Delivery & Consulting

  • Host client kickoff meetings to establish project objectives, timelines, and expectations.
  • Take ownership of telecommunications cost reduction engagements from initiation through implementation and validation.
  • Conduct telecom audits, network inventory reviews, utilization studies, and service optimization assessments.
  • Negotiate best-in-class rates, terms, and contracts on behalf of clients.
  • Identify billing errors and secure historical and ongoing credits when appropriate.
  • Evaluate and recommend service upgrades, consolidations, vendor changes, and modernization opportunities.
  • Implement savings initiatives and validate projected savings are realized and properly reflected on vendor invoices.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and savings opportunities to client stakeholders and executive leadership.

Leadership & Practice Development

  • Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing telecommunications team.
  • Establish clear KPIs, performance expectations, and accountability measures.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence, ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier and carrier relationships to maximize client value and preferred pricing opportunities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to expand service offerings, improve operational efficiency, and grow the telecommunications practice.
  • Leverage data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve project outcomes, efficiency, and client experience.

Project & Operational Management

  • Manage internal and external resources to drive project execution, speed, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project performance, client satisfaction, and implementation results.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, processes, and quality expectations.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Business, Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of telecommunications, telecom expense management, telecom sourcing, carrier services, consulting, or related industry experience.
  • Prior leadership experience managing teams, projects, or client engagements preferred.
  • Experience negotiating telecommunications contracts, services, and vendor agreements.
  • Strong understanding of telecom infrastructure, network services, carrier solutions, and expense management practices.


Skills

  • Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive accountability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience utilizing data analytics, automation, AI-enabled tools, or technology platforms to improve operational performance and client outcomes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with employees and clients at all levels, both in-person and remotely.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Salesforce.com, and related business applications.
  • Strong customer service orientation and consultative approach.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, occasional stooping and reaching, and may require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires a standard range of vision and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation. The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Compensation & Benefits

The Company offers competitive compensation based on an applicant's experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, certifications, and other business considerations. Formal compensation offers will be based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience.

For this position, the expected compensation is between $120,000 and $140,000 annually, prorated based on start date. This position is FLSA-exempt and not eligible for overtime pay.
