The Document Functionality Analyst I is responsible for ensuring that all system-generated documents — including policy 

forms, notices, and correspondence — function accurately and efficiently within company systems. This role bridges the 

gap between business operations and system configuration, validating that each document populates the correct data, 

triggers under appropriate conditions, and meets compliance and formatting standards. In short, A Document 

Functionality Analyst ensures that every document not only looks right but works right — technically, logically, and 

operationally.


The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to identify, document, and resolve 

functional issues related to automated document generation.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Review, analyze, and test system-generated documents in both staging and production environments.

2. Validate that documents fire correctly based on established business rules and event triggers.

3. Ensure that all variables, data mappings, and conditional logic populate accurately within each document.

4. Identify and troubleshoot functional and formatting issues, working closely with specialists to resolve them.

5. Collaborate with IT/Systems, Business Analysts, Compliance/Regulatory Affairs, Underwriting, Customer Service, 

Accounting, and Claims teams.

6. Participate in document change requests, testing, and release validation.

7. Maintain detailed testing records, version histories, and issue logs.

8. Support internal audits and quality reviews by providing documentation and test evidence.

9. Recommend improvements to document processes, testing workflows, and functionality standards.

10. Measure and report on project performance to identify areas for improvement.

11. Understand insurance, policy activities, management processes, and billing as they relate to documents.

12. Develop and maintain reporting for management and business partners.

13. Keep management informed of progress, risks, and blockers.

14. Forecast resource needs, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

15. Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

16. Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


1. 1-3 years experience in an insurance related role, preferred. 

2. Associate degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and 

experience will be considered.

3. 1-3 years experience in an IT related role, preferred. 

Document Functionality Analyst I 10/2025

4. Basic understanding of personal insurance business. This includes understanding of products, coverage’s, claim, 

underwriting, distribution channels, and business/sale centers; 

5. Basic experience in Personal Auto insurance, preferred;

6. Basic experience in business process and/or data analysis and data profiling;

7. Basic leadership, innovation and initiating skills;

8. Basic critical thinking, problem solving and data analysis skills;

9. Basic proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access and SQL preferred, ability to use internet 

and adapt to new software programs and changes in technology;

10. Ability to set priorities and perform multiple tasks;

11. Ability to solve practical problems; deal with concrete variables in situations; and to interpret a variety of 

instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form;

12. Ability to manage increased levels of responsibility;

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Physical attendance / hybrid work schedule is required based on location (only required if within a certain 

distance of our physical office locations).

2. This position may require mandatory overtime as deemed appropriate by management;

3. The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment;

4. Travel may be required;

5. Vision abilities to work at close range and with small print;

6. Physical efforts required include, but may not be limited to, verbally communicating detailed and important 

information
