SUMMARY 

Plans, directs, and coordinates secondary processes and supports production by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Manufacturing Engineering:

*Develops, evaluates, and improves secondary operations methods.

*Assists in preparing quotes for secondary operations.

*Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, 

and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

*Develops packaging for products.

*Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

*Manage projects within budget and maintains delivery dates.

*Supports production requirements as needed.

*Polices use of safety devices and equipment and general housekeeping; maintains alert for hazardous conditions and 

practices.

*Design, build, and maintain various pieces of secondary operations equipment.

*Develop process verification and/or validation for the assembly and inspection on non-medical and medical products.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb and sit. Regularly uses hands and fingers to operate computer keyboard, tools and equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Requirements

 

SKILLS: 

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; and/or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, corporate procedures and specifications. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers and vendors in a clear and concise manner.

Ability to understand mathematical operations such as frequency distribution, statistics, determination of test reliability and validity, geometry, percentages and ratios.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Must be computer literate, proficient with spreadsheets, database and word processing. 

Must have knowledge of PLC’s, basic wiring and basic machining.

Must have the ability to troubleshoot issues related but not limited to mechanical, electrical, programming, fixturing and production parts.
