Position Summary
The MRI Team Lead is responsible for supervising day-to-day MRI department workflow, supporting technologists, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborating with radiologists and physicians. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with advanced MRI knowledge and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Position Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily MRI department operations during day shift hours
- lead MRI technologists and support staff to maintain workflow efficiency
- Ensure compliance with MRI safety standards, accreditation requirements, and departmental policies
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, training, onboarding, and performance support
- Perform high-quality MRI procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety
- Troubleshoot equipment and workflow issues in collaboration with service vendors and leadership
- Monitor image quality and ensure adherence to established protocols
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction goals
- Collaborate with radiologists, nursing staff, and referring providers to optimize patient care
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an MRI Technologist
EDUCATION:
- Must have a minimum associate's degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) and maintain current valid registration from ARRT or ARMIT. MR advanced registration through ARRT or ARMIT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Non-IDTF centers require MR advanced registry within the first 12 months of employment. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
- Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
- Ability to work independently and multitask.
- Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
- Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
