JOB SUMMARY
The Corporate Engagement Associate role is a structured, cohort-based professional development experience designed to accelerate early-career talent through hands-on exposure to nonprofit leadership, corporate partnerships, and community impact.
Over the course of approximately 18 weeks, associates serve as full-time members of United Way’s Resource Development team, working directly with corporate partners, executives, and campaign leaders to design and execute fundraising and engagement strategies. This immersive experience blends business development, client relationship management, public speaking, and project leadership, providing participants with real-world skills that translate across industries.
This is more than a seasonal role—it is a leadership launchpad for individuals seeking meaningful, high-impact experience early in their careers. The job is scheduled to begin on July 20, 2026, and will end November 20, 2026.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate Engagement Associates take ownership of a portfolio of corporate campaigns and are responsible for driving engagement, strengthening relationships, and delivering measurable results.
Key responsibilities include:
Corporate Engagement & Relationship Management
- Manage and grow relationships with assigned corporate partners and campaign leaders
- Serve as a trusted advisor, providing strategic recommendations to increase participation and impact
- Deliver a high level of customer service and ongoing communication throughout campaign execution
Business Development & Campaign Strategy
- Design and implement tailored fundraising and engagement strategies for assigned accounts
- Identify opportunities to increase employee participation and overall campaign performance
- Support revenue growth through effective planning and execution
Public Speaking & Communication
- Lead engaging presentations for employee groups and organizational leaders
- Represent United Way in both virtual and in-person settings
- Communicate mission impact in a compelling and audience-relevant way
Project & Account Management
- Oversee multiple campaigns simultaneously, managing timelines, logistics, and deliverables
- Coordinate meetings, events, and campaign activities across stakeholders
- Track progress and results using internal systems (e.g., CRM platforms and campaign tools)
Community Engagement & Events
- Support and participate in volunteer activities, corporate events, and community initiatives
- Help ensure meaningful and impactful experiences for volunteers and partners
Collaboration & Team Contribution
- Partner closely with internal teams to align strategy and execution
- Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on results and impact

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Normal nonprofit office environment with little exposure to dust, noise and extreme temperatures.
- Extended work on personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
- Reliable transportation required, with the ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events locally, routinely and around the state and nationally, occasionally.
- Monday-Friday, 8:15 am to 4:45 pm work week with occasional evening and weekend hours.
