Job Summary
The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing all transportation operations across Axiom Care programs. This position provides leadership and supervision to transportation staff while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant transportation services. The Transportation Manager oversees driver scheduling, training, transportation software administration, fleet maintenance coordination, vehicle cleanliness standards, transportation compliance, and operational performance. This position collaborates closely with clinical, housing, admissions, and facilities teams to ensure transportation services support client care and organizational objectives.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Directly supervise Transportation Drivers and Lead Drivers.
- Develop and maintain driver schedules and transportation coverage plans.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage during absences, PTO, and emergencies.
- Conduct employee onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor employee productivity, professionalism, and adherence to company policies.
- Facilitate regular transportation team meetings and training sessions
- Oversee daily transportation operations across all programs and facilities.
- Coordinate transportation services for admissions, discharges, medical appointments, court appearances, employment, and approved client activities.
- Monitor transportation requests and adjust resources to meet operational needs.
- Develop and maintain transportation workflows, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
- Analyze transportation utilization and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Serve as the primary administrator for transportation scheduling software.
- Oversee software implementation, maintenance, and ongoing optimization.
- Ensure transportation requests are accurately entered, scheduled, and tracked.
- Train staff on transportation software and scheduling procedures.
- Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, and readiness of all transportation vehicles.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, registrations, and insurance requirements.
- Collaborate with Facilities and Maintenance teams to ensure fleet reliability.
- Conduct routine fleet audits and vehicle inspections.
- Ensure all vehicles meet company safety and cleanliness standards.
- Ensure compliance with transportation policies, licensing requirements, and safety standards.
- Monitor driver compliance with defensive driving and vehicle inspection requirements.
- Investigate transportation incidents, accidents, and complaints
- De-escalate crisis situations as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years of behavioral health experience required, or equivalent personal or professional experience related to substance use treatment.
- Minimum of two years of leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license required, with a clear 39-month motor vehicle record.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to drive a vehicle for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move luggage weighing up to 50 pounds.
