Training and Development Specialist

Summary

The Training and Development Specialist leads the strategic, end-to-end project management, implementation, and governance of modernized learning pathways and talent development programming across the organization. Moving beyond strictly content creation, this role focuses on putting a structural framework around existing assets, cataloging content, and optimizing the learner user experience (UX).

Serving as a central project lead and cross-functional partner, this specialist works closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and department heads to identify training gaps, establish optimal rollout timing, and deploy high-impact, on-demand resources. They manage the full content lifecycle—from discovery and needs analysis to implementation, evaluation, and robust version control—ensuring organizational training drives major change, adoption of new technology, and advanced talent development.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Implementation Leadership

  • End-to-End Project Management: Own and manage training design and implementation frameworks for key operational programs, system refreshes, and organizational initiatives.
  • SME & Stakeholder Partnership: Serve as the central training liaison, collaborating deeply with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and department heads to scope, validate, and strategically time the rollout of technical and operational training.
  • On-Demand Strategy: Define and execute a modern learning strategy that delivers accessible, on-demand resources tailored to evolving role-based learning pathways.

Content Governance & UX Framework

  • Content Lifecycle Governance: Manage the ongoing cataloging, maintenance, and version control of all existing learning assets to ensure ongoing accuracy, relevance, and centralized accessibility.
  • User Experience (UX) Design: Oversee the user experience design for internal resource management tools and system updates, ensuring learning content is intuitive and seamless for all users.
  • Curriculum Optimization: Lead the strategic refresh and modernization of existing company-wide training events, advanced certification courses (e.g., Mentor Certification Class), and sales training programs rather than building from scratch.

Discovery, Evaluation, & Facilitation

  • Discovery Leadership: Lead initial discovery and structured needs assessments for high-level organizational training initiatives, translating technical workflows into scalable talent development goals.
  • Evaluation & Metrics: Design and implement robust post-training evaluation models to measure training effectiveness, content retention, and business impact metrics.
  • Onboarding & Support: Facilitate recurring corporate onboarding sessions, manage related reporting, and provide backup support for system-focused mentor sessions and office hours.
Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to manage complex, end-to-end training rollouts, cross-functional timelines, and software/technology implementations.
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Exceptional relationship-building skills with a track record of successfully partnering with senior leaders and technical SMEs to co-create training frameworks.
  • Learning Strategy & UX Design: Demonstrated experience managing learning strategies and user experiences, specifically organizing and cataloging large asset libraries into digestible learning pathways.
  • Instructional Design & Adult Learning: Strong foundation in adult learning principles and instructional design, with an understanding of how to audit, elevate, and modernize existing content.
  • Data & Evaluation Literacy: Experience establishing training metrics and using post-training evaluation data to continuously improve talent development programs.
  • Adaptability & Excellence: Ability to thrive and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, high-demand environment undergoing continuous organizational growth.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity or design experience with e-learning and development tools such as PowerPoint, Articulate, Adobe Suite, Synthesia, Camtasia, Canva, and project management platforms like Asana.
