Position Summary

As the Bar Prep you will be responsible for preparing the house made ingredients for the bar to use and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and ready for service.


Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all appearance standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Prepare garnishes, syrups, bitters, and other ingredients needed for cocktails.
  • Utilize bar prep sheet and bar grocery daily sheet to keep track of bar prep and produce usage.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar prep area, including washing and sanitizing tools, glassware, and surfaces.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables appropriately.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the walk-in refrigerator and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure proper usage and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the Bar Manager.
  • Rotate stock to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
  • Ensure all beverage items are properly labeled, dated, stored and kept at a proper temperature.
  • Ensure all items are stored and handled in compliance with house SOPs and NYC DOH Standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all common health and hygiene guidelines.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as as a Bar Prep is preferred.
  • Intermediate knife skills.
  • Knowledge of bar supplies, ingredients, and standard drink recipes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and handling inventory.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs while holding boxes or other items needed for the position.
  • Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.
  • Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
  • Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
