Hospice LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Charleroi, PA
Description

Hospice LPN — $2,500 Sign-On | M–F Days, No Scheduled Weekends, Every Minute Paid

Charleroi, PA | Full-Time | $28–$35/hour + $2,500 sign-on bonus

Most hospice LPN jobs pay you per visit and let you donate the driving and charting. Then they bury “weekends as needed” in the fine print.

We do neither.

Anova Hospice & Palliative Care is hiring a full-time Hospice LPN based out of our Charleroi office, serving patients across Westmoreland (as far as Greensburg and Latrobe), Fayette, Washington, and Greene counties. Monday through Friday, daytime

visits. No scheduled weekend shifts, no nights — we staff dedicated on-call nurses for that.

We pay for your whole day — not just the visit

Drive time between visits: paid at your full hourly rate. Not a flat fee. Not unpaid.

Documentation time: paid at your full hourly rate. Charting is nursing work, so it pays like nursing work.

On-call, but barely: dedicated on-call RNs cover weeknights and weekends — you’re backup only, for their call-offs and PTO, plus one rotating holiday per year. And when you do carry the phone, you’re paid a stipend for every hour plus your full rate for any visit.

Mileage reimbursement on top of paid drive time.

$2,500 sign-on bonus.

What your day actually looks like

4–7 patient visits per day — enough time to actually nurse, not just document that you were there

Home territory: Westmoreland (as far as Greensburg/Latrobe), Fayette, Washington, and Greene counties. Occasional coverage in Allegheny County’s South Hills — and every mile of drive time is paid at your full rate, plus mileage

Consistent assignments under an RN case manager — you’re part of a full interdisciplinary team, never practicing on an island

• A clinical office that answers the phone: family-owned, local leadership, no corporate call tree

What you’ll do (and it respects your license)

• Provide skilled nursing visits for symptom management and comfort under the direction of the RN case manager and the plan of care

• Administer medications per physician orders, including comfort kit medications

• Perform wound care and other skilled interventions within LPN scope

• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the RN and physician — you are the team’s eyes in the home

• Reinforce teaching with patients and families on care techniques and what to expect

• Document visits accurately and on time

• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings where your input on your patients is actually heard

What you’ll need

• Current Pennsylvania LPN license and CPR certification

• 3 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in hospice or palliative care

• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance

• Strong organization and communication — you’ll be the link between home and team

• The steadiness to be a calm, skilled presence in hard moments

Benefits that start fast

$28–$35 per hour, based on experience — bi-weekly pay

$2,500 sign-on bonus

Company-provided health coverage for you AND your dependents, effective the 1st of the month after your hire date — no 90-day wait

PTO that grows with you: 10 paid days off in year one, 15 in years 2–5, 20 from year six on

6 paid holidays plus a paid day off for your birthday

401(k) eligibility after 3 months, with a 50% company match on the first 3% you contribute

• Dental, vision, life, and short-term disability plans available

• Career pathways and a referral bonus program
