Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Quality Technician II to directly support our manufacturing practices through development, evaluation, and continual improvement of processes using quality concepts, principles, and methodologies with the goal of consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations of quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Release product for shipment by verifying required documentation, certifications, and customer-specific quality requirements are complete and accurate
  • Interpret and apply basic GD&T principles to support inspection and manufacturing processes
  • Perform dimensional verification of PPAPs, first article inspections (FAI), and production parts to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Support production by interpreting manufacturing documentation, troubleshooting quality concerns, and coaching employees on proper measurement and inspection techniques
  • Conduct technical inspections of raw materials and manufactured components, including receiving inspection, in accordance with established procedures
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate quality data and metrics to support process improvement and decision-making
  • Prioritize and coordinate inspection activities and work order tasks within the QA lab to meet operational demands
  • Perform internal audits of processes, dimensional conformance, workmanship, and documentation to ensure quality system compliance
  • Maintain proficiency in all aspects of the Quality Technician II role while consistently meeting quality, accuracy, and productivity expectations
  • Train and mentor new quality inspectors on daily responsibilities, inspection methods, and quality procedures
Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metal fabrication, operating within a continuous improvement or quality management system (QMS), with hands-on inspection experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings with employees, customers, and business partners
  • Demonstrated mathematical aptitude, including the ability to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, and basic statistical data interpretation
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data, including graphs, trends, and quality metrics
  • Proficiency in standard business software, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet-based systems
  • Experience with measuring equipment, dimensional inspection, blueprint reading, and GD&T is preferred
  • Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification through ASQ is preferred

EDUCATION

  • Associate degree in related field preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
