We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and experienced full-time Life Enrichment Coordinator to help deliver exceptional care and meaningful experiences for our residents. The ideal candidate has experience in senior living settings, including long-term care, assisted living, or memory support, and is passionate about enhancing the lives of older adults.


The Life Enrichment Coordinator will plan, organize, and lead therapeutic and recreational programs for residents across Healthcare, Assisted Living, and Memory Support. This role promotes residents’ physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being through engaging activities that encourage social connection, learning, fitness, creativity, and purposeful engagement.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with program operations and perform duties as assigned by the Life Enrichment Manager or Supervisor.
  • Plan, implement, and lead life enrichment, therapeutic, and recreational programs that promote residents’ physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual well-being.
  • Develop engaging group and individual activities, special events, and outings that encourage participation, independence, and meaningful connections.
  • Complete required assessments, including activity and MDS assessments, in compliance with regulations and organizational policies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely resident documentation and activity records.
  • Coordinate activity schedules, events, and facility space; ensure calendars are distributed and posted throughout the community.
  • Support resident committees, councils, and community events as assigned.
  • Safely transport residents to and from outings and offsite activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and staff to create a vibrant, resident-centered environment.
  • Report directly to the Life Enrichment Manager; this position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with older adults; senior living experience preferred.
  • Certified Activity Professional, CNA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Current Adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required.
  • Valid Virginia driver's license with an acceptable driving record required; CDL preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrated compassion, patience, flexibility, and commitment to resident dignity, rights, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to assess resident needs and support safe, engaging wellness and life enrichment programs.
  • Creative, organized, and self-motivated, with strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications and resident management systems.
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and infection control practices.
