About Vala’s
Located in Gretna, Nebraska, Vala’s is a family owned and operated fall festival open to the public 45 to 55 days a year and is a treasured fall tradition for many families in the surrounding communities. Vala’s property spans 400+ acres, including over 50 attractions, such as pick-your-own pumpkins, apples, and flowers, and over 25+ food locations. Our mission at Vala’s is to bring happiness to the world by creating a place where magical memories are shared between families and friends- one person, one pumpkin, one experience at a time.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
As a part of the agriculture team, this position is responsible for directing guests in the orchard and completing U-Pick apple and U-Pick flower transactions. Additionally, this will facilitate educational opportunities for guests and school groups participating in U-Pick activities. This includes using a script to communicate with groups of guests regarding the orchard, apples and the growing process. This position reports to the Director of Agriculture. This is a seasonal, part to full time position. Location may vary based on business needs.
- Accurately record orders and process transactions using POS system
- Interacts with guests in a friendly manner at all times
- Ability to educate guests on all aspects of Vala’s apple orchard and apple varieties
- Ability to present educational information to groups of school children
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to quickly resolve guest issues
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Interest in orchard processes and guest service - experience not required
