About Vala’s

Located in Gretna, Nebraska, Vala’s is a family owned and operated fall festival open to the public 45 to 55 days a year and is a treasured fall tradition for many families in the surrounding communities. Vala’s property spans 400+ acres, including over 50 attractions, such as pick-your-own pumpkins, apples, and flowers, and over 25+ food locations. Our mission at Vala’s is to bring happiness to the world by creating a place where magical memories are shared between families and friends- one person, one pumpkin, one experience at a time.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

As a part of the agriculture team, this position is responsible for supporting the harvesting of apples and pumpkins. Harvest Crew staff may also assist in packaging apples and delivering them to locations for sale. This position reports to the Director of Agriculture. This is a seasonal, part to full time position. All shifts for this role start at 8am. 

• Ability to reach and pull apples from 10 foot trees, using ladders as needed
• Support harvesting of pumpkins and transportation to retail locations
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to work in variable weather conditions
• May be requested to operate some farm vehicles depending on age and experience
• Works well in a fast paced, team environment
• Interest in apples and orchard operations- no experience required
