About Vala’s
Located in Gretna, Nebraska, Vala’s is a family owned and operated fall festival open to the public 45 to 55 days a year and is a treasured fall tradition for many families in the surrounding communities. Vala’s property spans 400+ acres, including over 50 attractions, such as pick-your-own pumpkins, apples, and flowers, and over 25+ food locations. Our mission at Vala’s is to bring happiness to the world by creating a place where magical memories are shared between families and friends- one person, one pumpkin, one experience at a time.
Responsibilities:
As a part of the cider team, this position is responsible for taking orders and payment from guests utilizing our point of sale (POS) system. Additionally, cashiers serve draft ciders and check for valid identification. This is a guest facing position. This position reports to the location Team Leader. This is a seasonal, part to full time position. Location may vary based on business needs.
- Accurately record orders and process transactions using POS system
- Ability to check and validate ID to determine if a guest is of legal drinking age
- Ability to safely and accurately serve draft cider
- Interact with guests in a friendly manner at all times
- Maintain a clean and food safe environment at all times
- Tend to seating and dining areas (if applicable), including wiping down tables, sweeping and mopping
- Works well in a fast paced, team environment
- Quickly resolve guest issues and intervene when a guest should no longer be served alcoholic beverages
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions
- Successful completion of Vala’s Alcohol Service Training
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to move 25-50 lbs, and 50-70 lbs frequently
- Interest in cider and guest service- experience not required
