About Vala’s

Located in Gretna, Nebraska, Vala’s is a family owned and operated fall festival open to the public 45 to 55 days a year and is a treasured fall tradition for many families in the surrounding communities. Vala’s property spans 400+ acres, including over 50 attractions, such as pick-your-own pumpkins, apples, and flowers, and over 25+ food locations. Our mission at Vala’s is to bring happiness to the world by creating a place where magical memories are shared between families and friends- one person, one pumpkin, one experience at a time.

Responsibilities:

As a part of the Hospitality team, they focus on “Going the Extra Mile,” one of Vala's Core Values. Customer service and staff support are key facets of the team. The goal is to deliver “Unreasonable Hospitality” at Vala’s by creating magical memories. This position reports to the Hospitality Manager. This is a seasonal, part to full time position. Location may vary based on business needs.

• Monitoring and publicizing shout outs 
• Choosing and publicizing staff of the week 
• Decorating for various events on the farm, including cider tastings, corporate and pavilion events
• Greeting guests at corporate and pavilion events (catering and non catering)
• Welcoming new staff and helping navigate the farm
• Planning and hosting staff events throughout the season
• Creating flower arrangements to be used across the farm
• Provide welcoming customer service to all guests, including answering questions and providing directions 
• Help plan special occasions, including engagements
• Being a resource for staff questions during high traffic shift changes 

Requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to remain calm under pressure 
• Ability to identify guest and staff needs and respond appropriately
• Must be age 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and successfully complete training to operate farm equipment
• Strong communication and guest service skills
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work in variable weather conditions
• Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, and reach for extended periods
• Ability to move 25 lbs, 25-50 lbs frequently, and 50-70 lbs occasionally
• Artistic and creative abilities are a plus  
• Experience with Google Docs, Google Sheets and Canva is a plus
