Schedule: 7:30 – 3:45 Monday to Friday, August – May


Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Principal, the AIS will assist students in meeting instructional goals and objectives through individualized support, classroom collaboration and intervention.

Essential Job Functions

  • Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce concepts and study skills and encourage students to advocate for themselves.
  • Supports the implementation of evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions in the classroom
  • Assesses students’ academic performance using formal and informal data
  •  Maintains good record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance. Track and analyze student academic data to monitor progress and identify areas of concern.
  • Assists students in developing executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, and study strategies.
  • Assists students with learning differences in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, and achievement of objectives.
  • Participates in Catholic Accommodation Plan and serves as resource for the student evaluation team as needed.
  • Collaborates with the counselors, department chairs, and the Dean of Academics to set and achieve goals.
  • Participates in evaluations for the admissions of students with specific accommodations.
  • Reports regularly to the principal on student progress, parent concerns, and teacher support.
Requirements

  

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, Curriculum and Instruction
  • Certified teacher
  • Prior experience working with low-performing students in Math
