Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer / Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, appearance, and regulatory compliance of all medical office facilities, grounds, equipment, and assets. Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, landscaping, vendor coordination, and facility support activities while ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations across all clinic locations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Maintenance

  • Coordinate and perform facility      maintenance, repairs, inspections, and improvement projects.
  • Serve as the primary contact for      maintenance, janitorial, landscaping, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and      other facility vendors.
  • Maintain medical offices, exam      rooms, waiting areas, provider offices, and common spaces.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain      exam tables, medical cabinetry, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Prepare and configure clinic      spaces, furniture, equipment, and technology for operational readiness.
  • Maintain maintenance schedules,      work orders, service records, and facility documentation.
  • Ensure maintenance supplies and      equipment are adequately stocked and organized.
  • Manage facility maintenance      activities within budget and prioritize repairs based on safety,      compliance, operational impact, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Complete minor repairs including      drywall, painting, lighting, doors, locks, fixtures, and furniture.
  • Assemble, move, and install      office furniture, shelving, and equipment.
  • Support workstation setup and      office relocations.

· Maintain and organize storage facilities by conducting regular inventory reviews, identifying items for retention or disposal, consolidating storage space when feasible (including reducing from three storage units to two), and maintaining detailed documentation with photographs and descriptions of all stored items to ensure accountability, accessibility, and efficient space utilization.

Building Systems & Repairs

  • Perform general handyman duties      including plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and minor      electrical repairs.
  • Monitor and maintain HVAC,      plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, irrigation, and other building      systems.
  • Assist with      facility improvement and renovation projects
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance      and vendor services for specialized repairs and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate repair versus      replacement options and recommend facility improvements as needed.

Safety, Compliance & Asset Management

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, life      safety, infection prevention, and facility regulations.
  • Maintain fire alarms,      extinguishers, emergency lighting, and other safety equipment.
  • Conduct routine facility      inspections and address safety concerns.
  • Maintain tools, maintenance      equipment, and organizational assets in safe working condition.
  • Monitor facility assets and      recommend repairs, replacements, and capital improvements.

Grounds & Operational Support

  • Maintain landscaping, parking      lots, sidewalks, entrances, and outdoor areas.
  • Provide facility support for      meetings, events, office moves, and organizational activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and      organized maintenance workspace and storage areas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent      required.
  • Ability to      safely operate hand and power tools
  • .Minimum three (3) years of      facility, commercial property, or medical office maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC,      plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, and general building      maintenance.
  • Healthcare facility experience      preferred.
  • Strong organizational,      problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with      acceptable driving record.
  • Experience      coordinating vendors and contractors
