Assistant Property Manager/Leasing Specialist

The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for helping maximize property performance through leasing, rent collections, resident relations, and operational problem-solving.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with people, thrives on solving problems, and takes pride in producing measurable results. You will be expected to drive occupancy, support resident retention, collect rents, and help ensure the property operates efficiently every day.

Requirements

Essential Functions / Duties and Responsibilities


-Conduct apartment tours and professionally present the community

- Follow up on all leads promptly through phone, email, and text

- Monitor market competitors and provide leasing recommendations

- Process rental applications including background checks, income verification, and rental references

- Assist with move-ins and move-outs

- Execute leasing strategies to maintain occupancy goals

- Collect rents and follow up on delinquent accounts

-Assist with notices and collection procedures

-Conduct regular property inspections

- Maintain housing regulations, company policies, and operational standards

- Utilize Yardi and other systems to manage reporting, leasing, and operational functions

- Resolve resident concerns and maintain a high level of customer service

- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned


Required Qualifications: Required Education and Experience


- Minimum 2 years of successful experience as an Assistant Property Manager

- Strong leasing, sales, and customer service skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

- Strong financial and mathematical aptitude

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Experience with fair housing

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Education and Experience

-Experience with Yardi software preferred 

-Apartment leasing experience

- Multi-property or large community management experience


Work Environment


This role operates in a professional leasing office and apartment community environment with frequent interaction with residents, vendors, contractors, and prospective tenants.


Physical Demands


This role requires the ability to walk the property, stand, and sit for extended periods, use office equipment, and occasionally lift office materials or supplies.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work


This position may be Part-Time or Full-Time, 20+ hours per week.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Varied Schedule

Weekends and holidays off unless business needs require otherwise

Classification: Non-Exempt


Travel

Minimal local travel between properties or vendor locations may be required.

Salary Description
Starting hourly rate is $23.00-$28.00
