POSITION:
RETAIL SUPERVISOR The Retail Supervisor plays a pivotal, multi-faceted role in driving the success of our retail operations. This position bridges the gap between behind-the-scenes logistics and front-of-house sales performance. In addition to overseeing comprehensive inventory management and visual merchandising, the Retail Supervisor is responsible for championing product education and delivering dynamic sales training to the broader team.
By ensuring seamless stock flow and empowering the staff with the tools and knowledge to sell effectively, this role directly elevates the guest shopping experience and maximizes revenue.
This position is part of an exciting new retail space opening within our resort in mid-August 2026. Official start dates are expected to be finalized in early August.
This position requires weekends, nights, and holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute ongoing product knowledge training for the team, ensuring staff can speak confidently to product features, benefits, and ingredients/sourcing.
- Lead sales coaching and service training initiatives to elevate the team’s upselling, cross-selling, and guest engagement capabilities.
- Create accessible educational materials, cheat sheets, or brief guides to help team members quickly master new retail arrivals.
- Act as a floor leader and mentor, modeling exceptional service and sales techniques for frontline staff.
- Oversee and streamline the receipt, inspection, and precise processing of all incoming deliveries.
- Directly supervise a team of 2–4 retail associates; manage daily shift scheduling, assign floor tasks, and ensure the team adheres to resort standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with the Guest Services’ leadership to ensure retail associates are effectively cross-trained and executing guest check-ins and reservations seamlessly during peak hours.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders, meticulously documenting and resolving any discrepancies, damages, or shortages, and enter new products into the inventory management system.
- Maintain absolute inventory accuracy through rigorous manual counts, cycle counts, and diligent upkeep of the inventory management system.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and proactively communicate replenishment needs, stock velocities, and low-inventory alerts to the Retail Curator.
- Ensure backstock areas and stockrooms are meticulously clean, organized, safe, and efficient.
- Lead the labeling, tagging, pricing, and strategic placement of merchandise on the sales floor.
- Support visual merchandising standards, ensuring displays are consistently fresh, fully stocked, and visually compelling to optimize sales.
- Capture photos and short-form video content of retail products, workshops, and displays to support social media and marketing efforts.
- Coordinate seamlessly with vendors and suppliers as directed by leadership to facilitate smooth order fulfillment and product inquiries.
- Enforce and adhere to all company policies regarding inventory control, loss prevention, cash handling, and workplace safety.
- Support additional operational duties as assigned to meet the fluid needs of the business.
Due to changing operational demands and the need to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to undertake various functions that are not specifically related to this position. This individual may be required to carry out additional tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Additionally, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and modification.

- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in retail operations, inventory management, or a supervisory retail role.
- Demonstrated experience in staff training, onboarding, or sales coaching is highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational talent and sharp attention to detail; ability to manage multiple logistical and educational projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with retail technology, including Point of Sale (POS) and inventory management systems (experience with system implementation or optimization is a plus).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment; ability to lift, move, and organize merchandise.
- Experience in hospitality, resort, boutique, or premium service-based environments is preferred.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- CPR and first aid certification a plus, and/or the willingness to be trained.
