Who We Are:
We are Destify! We focus on our people, our culture, and our technology. We're reimagining the destination wedding experience, simplifying the complex, celebrating the meaningful, and building technology that connects thousands of couples to their dream celebrations.
About the Role
Destify is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer for our Platforms & Engineering team to own how we prove our products are ready to ship — across our web applications, HubSpot workflows, APIs, internal tools, and product analytics. This isn't traditional manual QA, and it isn't the last line of defense. You'll set the quality strategy and lead it through tools and processes — pairing strong QA fundamentals with modern automation and AI-assisted testing — so we release faster, catch defects earlier, and build a testing practice that scales as we grow.
Who You Are:
You treat quality as something the whole team owns, not a box checked at the end. You're at your best catching problems early — building the automated tests and checks that let us ship fast without holding our breath. A few things that describe you:
- You'd rather prevent a bug than find one. You get involved when work is being scoped, not just when it's ready to test, so we agree on what "done" means up front.
- You build tests the team actually trusts. Your automation is reliable enough that a green build means we're good to go.
- You use the right tool for the job — including modern AI-assisted testing tools — to cover more ground without creating a maintenance mess.
Responsibilities
- Own Destify’s quality strategy, test automation approach, and release validation process.
- Build and maintain automated UI, API, smoke, regression, and integration coverage for our web apps and platform workflows — and use AI-enabled QA tools to generate tests, surface coverage gaps, and keep the suite trustworthy as we scale.
- Validate the workflows our customers and internal teams depend on — search, booking, guest management, group travel, HubSpot processes, APIs, and internal tools — covering data accuracy, authentication, error handling, and integration reliability.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering so requirements and acceptance criteria are testable before development starts, and translate Jira stories into automated and semi-automated validation paths. Move quality upstream instead of relying on late-stage manual checks.
- Identify, reproduce, and document defects in Jira with clear steps, impact, and evidence — backed by reproduction scripts and failing tests — and keep QA standards, regression coverage, and release checklists current in Confluence.
- Support release readiness through staging validation, production smoke testing, UAT support, and post-release monitoring.
- 5+ years of QA, Test Automation, or Quality Engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience building or maintaining automated tests.
- Experience testing modern web applications, APIs, integrations, and business workflows.
- Has established or significantly matured a QA/automation practice — testing standards, coverage strategy, tooling — not just operated inside one someone else built.
- Experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, or similar.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience creating regression, smoke, integration, and acceptance test coverage.
- Strong ability to translate requirements and acceptance criteria into clear test plans and automated validation.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted QA tools, test generation, self-healing tests, or low-code/no-code automation platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot failed tests, isolate defects, identify flaky tests, and improve test reliability.
- Strong understanding of release readiness, defect lifecycle management, regression risk, and test coverage.
- Self-directed — can set the quality agenda and drive it without day-to-day direction — and communicates clearly with Product, Design, and Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI-enabled QA platforms such as mabl, testRigor, Testim, Functionize, Applitools, or similar.
- Experience testing HubSpot workflows, forms, custom objects, pipelines, automations, and integrations.
- Familiarity with PostHog or similar product analytics platforms.
- Experience validating analytics events, funnels, feature flags, user behavior tracking, and conversion reporting.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
- Experience with C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, or similar technologies.
- Experience with AWS or cloud-based application environments.
- Experience with accessibility, visual regression, performance, contract, or synthetic monitoring tests.
- Experience working with offshore development or QA teams.
