Description


Position Summary

The Family Engagement Specialist supports family engagement, community outreach, and public awareness efforts by delivering information, resources, and parent education and training opportunities throughout the service area. Responsibilities include participating in community events, operating the Learning Mobile, promoting early learning resources, supporting family engagement initiatives, and assisting with special projects and outreach activities. This position helps strengthen community awareness of ELCFV programs and services while supporting positive relationships with families, providers, and community partners. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, flexibility, organization, customer service, and the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences.

Primary Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Engagement

  • Represent ELCFV at community events, outreach activities, and public engagement opportunities.
  • Share information regarding early learning, family resources, and available ELCFV services.
  • Promote family engagement initiatives and community awareness efforts.
  • Support activities that strengthen relationships with families, providers, and community stakeholders.

Family & Community Support Services

  • Provide information, resources, and referrals to families and community members.
  • Respond to questions regarding early learning programs, services, and community resources.
  • Deliver professional, welcoming, and supportive customer service.
  • Support activities that encourage family engagement and participation in early learning opportunities.

Learning Mobile & Event Activities

  • Operate and maintain the Learning Mobile in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Participate in Learning Mobile visits, parent education activities, and community events.
  • Prepare, transport, distribute, and return materials, supplies, and resources used for outreach activities.
  • Support ELCFV-sponsored events, community initiatives, and special projects.

Documentation, Reporting & Program Support

  • Maintain records, documentation, and activity information related to outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, event information, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of community engagement activities and participation.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and other community engagement activities as assigned.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Services, Communications, Community Engagement, Human Services, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in early learning, family engagement, community outreach, customer service, education, social services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience supporting events, outreach activities, or public engagement efforts.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the service area.

Preferred

  • Experience providing family engagement, parent education, outreach, or community-based services.
  • Experience presenting information to groups, families, or community organizations.
  • Training and implementation experience related to trauma-informed care, Conscious Discipline, Strengthening Families, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience operating outreach programs, mobile learning initiatives, or community-based educational activities.

Salary Description
$18.56/hour
