About this Opportunity:
The Senior HR Generalist serves as a strategic and hands-on human resources partner supporting manufacturing operations with a primary focus on full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition. This role is responsible for attracting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining skilled manufacturing, technical, and professional talent while also supporting employee relations, performance management, compliance, training, and other HR initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong recruiting expertise with broad HR generalist experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting (50–60%)
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for manufacturing associates, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, quality, and management positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
- Create and post job advertisements across multiple recruiting platforms.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, networking events, trade schools, and community partnerships.
- Screen resumes, conduct interviews, coordinate hiring panels, and manage candidate communications.
- Oversee pre-employment processes, including background checks, reference checks, and offer administration.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill manufacturing positions.
- Participate in career fairs, workforce development programs, and community outreach initiatives.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
Human Resources Generalist Functions (40–50%)
- Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Support employee relations activities, including investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, and corrective action processes.
- Assist managers with performance management and employee development.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new hires.
- Maintain HRIS records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support benefits administration and employee communications.
- Assist with compensation reviews, salary benchmarking, and workforce planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support safety, engagement, retention, and culture initiatives supporting the EH&S team.
- Participate in audits, reporting, and HR process improvement projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years of full-cycle recruiting.
- Experience recruiting for manufacturing, industrial, production, engineering, maintenance, or skilled trades positions.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices specifically in CA.
- Strong interviewing, sourcing, and candidate assessment skills.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- HR certification such as Society for Human Resource Management-CP/SHRM-SCP or HR Certification Institute PHR/SPHR.
- Experience with workforce planning and talent management initiatives.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
