The General Sales Manager who leads this team inherits that standard -- and is expected to raise it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Lead, develop, and hold accountable a high-performing sales team -- setting daily expectations, running structured desking sessions, and driving consistent production at the level this store demands
• Own the full sales operation from first contact to delivery -- ensuring every guest interaction reflects Mercedes-Benz brand standards and Swickard's hospitality-first culture
• Desk deals with precision, urgency, and integrity -- structuring transactions that serve the guest and the business without compromise
• Manage and optimize new and pre-owned inventory -- monitoring turn rates, market positioning, acquisition strategy, and aging to maximize gross and minimize exposure
• Drive key sales metrics -- units, front-end and back-end gross, closing ratio, lead response time, CSI, and CRM compliance -- with a clear understanding of what moves the needle
• Partner with the finance department and service leadership to deliver a seamless, consistent guest experience across every department touchpoint
• Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent -- building a team with the skills, hospitality mindset, and accountability culture the Mercedes-Benz brand demands
• Serve as the primary sales leader for the GM -- translating strategic goals into daily execution and team performance
• Resolve escalated guest concerns with professionalism and composure -- protecting the store's reputation and the guest relationship
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 3+ years of General Sales Manager or senior sales management experience in a franchised dealership -- Mercedes-Benz or luxury brand experience strongly preferred
• Proven track record of leading a sales team to consistent performance -- units, gross, and CSI -- at a high-volume luxury store
• Sharp inventory manager -- able to read the market, manage turn, and make acquisition decisions that keep the store competitive
• A coach and a closer -- equally comfortable developing a consultant's skills and stepping in to desk a deal under pressure
• Strong CRM discipline and the ability to build a culture of process compliance, follow-up accountability, and data-driven decision-making
• Deep understanding of the luxury guest and what it takes to deliver a purchase experience that earns repeat business and referrals
• Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK experience preferred
• A hospitality mindset -- you lead by example and understand that the standard of a Best of the Best store starts with how the team treats people
