We are currently hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team on the weekends in the Lewiston/Auburn area.


Position Summary


The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides person-centered, hands-on support to individuals receiving Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) under MaineCare waiver programs.


DSPs play a critical role in helping individuals

  • Live safely and independently
  • Engage in their communities
  • Achieve personal goals

Support is delivered in alignment with

  • Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
  • Maine DHHS Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) regulations
  • HCBS Settings Rule requirements
  • Hope Family Partners policies and standards

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) (hygiene, meals, mobility)
  • Support community integration and social engagement
  • Implement and track progress on individual goals
  • Ensure health, safety, and well-being of individuals served
  • Complete accurate documentation and communication (Paylocity, logs, reports)
  • Work collaboratively with team members, families, and care coordinators

Requirements

Required Qualifications (Maine HCBS)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass Maine DHHS-required background checks
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (if transporting individuals)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required
  • Ability to complete required Maine HCBS trainings within designated timeframes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning and HCBS Settings Rule
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Medication Administration certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with Maine waiver services and documentation standards
  • Current DSP certification or ability to attain certification within 90 days of employment

Pay Range


$16.25 - $19.00/hr depending on experience and certifications.

$0.25/hr weekend shift differential
